I fooled with my RAM settings, and with them set to the lowest possible timings I can get my ship to jump through a gate before immediately crashing the client. This leads me to believe it has something to do with Kali's intolerance for crappy RAM (but RAM which is stable under any other circumstances).
I will update this post as more people come forward with the same bug.
If there is one thing they fix during the downtime i hope to god its this - im running 2gb of ram (2x1gb sticks) and a geforce 6600gt 256mb, i dont know what you mean by 'crappy ram' but im guessing mines not crappy and this stops your belief.
I cant log in for more than 10 seconds because it crashes to desktop while im coming out of warp at the gate (just after all the icons appear for npcs etc) and when i log back in its back in warp heading for the gate again, about to crash! terrible loop.
Another thing i noticed is that by deleting all the folders in the "cache" folder, i can sometimes get the jump to work, only to have the problem happen again on the next jump or sometimes after a couple more. Have also faced the problem coming out of the jump just after clearing cache (it let me finally get to the gate, but then crashed on the other side.)
PLEASE fix this as a bare minimum, as id dearly love to play :(
A few people who have had this problem have the same graphics card as me, or one similar. 6600gt, someone had a 6800, another had some other nvidia card etc.
Hope this helps get someting DONE about this REALLY annoying bug.
